Mother’s Day

In my opinion, a strong women is a role model, a mentor, and a leader. She’s confident in her own skin and she’s willing to step outside of her comfort zone to go after what she wants. She’s independent, yet she’s not afraid to ask for help. She is constantly empowering her loved ones, and she isn’t intimidated by another women’s success. She embraces her femininity, and is determined to always be the best version of herself. A strong woman faces her struggles head on, and always remains positive that everything will be ok. She makes a difference in the lives of those around her, and leads by example, especially for her children. The ultimate example of a strong woman is a Mother.

“Here’s to Strong Women, May be know them, May we raise them, May we be them”

This quote has always resonated with me because I instantly think of my mother, the strongest woman I know. From a very young age I knew that I wanted to be just like her when I grew up.

She is one of those rare individuals who makes an impact on every single person she comes in contact with. Her beauty radiates from within, her smile is overly contagious, and she is hands down the most selfless person I know. Growing up I always viewed her as superwoman because there was nothing that she couldn’t do. She had a way of making life look so simple, and taught me that I could achieve anything and become anything as long as I believed in myself. Now that i’m older i’ve learned that she isn’t invincible, she just handles life with optimism, faith, and determination. She’s a powerful, selfless, loving, caring, driven, hard-working, bad ass woman.

She is the first person that comes to mind when I hear “Strong Woman.” I’m sure while reading this a strong woman in your life came to mind. Whether it’s your mom or someone who’s acted as a mentor in your life, take the time to make them feel special, especially today. They deserve so much more than just Mother’s day to feel appreciated, valued, and spoiled.

Lisa Wessel, you’ve inspired me more than you’ll ever realize. You taught me that it’s okay to take risks, and that no matter what happens in life, you’ll always be by my side. You’ve always led by example which has shaped me into the woman I am today. Even though I have many years until I become a Mother, I pray to be half the mother that you have been. You’re my role model, my mentor, my therapist, my teacher, my cheerleader, and my best friend. I am so thankful for you every single day. I am so proud to be your daughter. I love you Mom.
